The program aims to invite overseas Chinese and international students who have graduated from high school or above, particularly those from countries with potential for international educational exchange (primarily the United States and Central and Eastern European countries, but not limited to these regions) , to participate in the TEEP program in Taiwan. Please note that individuals who have already obtained a doctoral degree or are currently studying or conducting research in Taiwan are not eligible to participate in this program.
The project schedule shall follow the announcement issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE). Each project principal investigator may determine the project schedule based on the actual arrival dates of TEEP participants. Participants must enter Taiwan no later than the project end date. Under special circumstances, participating institutions may apply for an extension by December 15 of the same year.
There are two methods for disbursing scholarships to TEEP participants, depending on individual circumstances:
A. 現金發放 / Cash Disbursement
As TEEP participants may not hold residence permits, opening bank accounts and completing university administrative registration can be difficult. Therefore, the project principal investigator may distribute the scholarship to students in cash. Students must personally sign an individual receipt . The maximum monthly scholarship amount shall follow the limit announced for the project. The actual amount is calculated based on the number of days the student stays in Taiwan during the month.
Calculation Example:
NT$15,000 ÷ 30 × Actual number of days in Taiwan during the month
TEEP participants may open an account at a post office in Taiwan. Monthly TEEP scholarships should be processed through the university's accounting system and transferred directly to the student's account.
Note: TEEP participants holding a visitor visa who wish to open a post office account in Taiwan must first apply online for a Unified ID Number. After obtaining the Unified ID Number certificate, students should bring the certificate and their passport to the post office to open an account.
